Japan, South Korean, and Taiwan have close ties with the US, but under the umbrella of a "global recession", more US allies will start turning to China for aid and economic partnership. I still believe that politics and government are there to serve the big businesses. Therefore, once big businesses all over the world become inseparable with China's economic engine, countries will be more inclined to cooperate with China in terms of political policies. When headlines beam "china lead recovery" people all over the world will have to accept that China is the new global superpower.
